    Director of Academic Affairs, University of Connecticut-Hartford

    Reporting to the UConn Hartford Campus Director, the Director of Academic Affairs (DAA) will be a key member of the Hartford Campus leadership team. The DAA will work with faculty and serve as the primary faculty partner in the Campus Director’s Office to provide support and guidance related to academic matters.

    The successful candidate for this position will have the ability to work as part of a team to manage efficiently a complex portfolio, a strong ethical sense, good judgement and a deep commitment to antiracism, equity and inclusion. The DAA will work closely with the Associate Campus Director, Assistant Campus Director & Director for Student Services, the Director of Finances, Director of Registrar Services, College Associate Deans, the Assistant Vice Provost for Enrichment Programs and other unit leaders on campus and across the University.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    ·         Advances and promotes faculty and student research activities, especially those related to UConn Hartford’s engagement mission and the Office of Undergraduate Research.

    ·         Advances and promotes the pedagogical mission of the campus, especially as this relates to the campus’s engagement with the City of Hartford.

    ·         Coordinates the campus Faculty Council and committees.

    ·         Oversees teaching and research grant competitions.

    ·         Assist in the hiring, orientation, training and support of adjuncts and graduate student faculty.

    ·         Work with Associate Campus Director and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to create opportunities for training and support regarding anti-racist and equity minded teaching and learning.

    ·         Oversees campus scholarships process.

    ·         Coordinates annual reviews for campus faculty.

    ·         Coordinates the Honor’s Program.

    ·         Performs related duties as required and assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    •     Current UConn appointment at rank of tenured Associate Professor or Professor; Associate Professor-in-Residence or Professor-in-Residence in one of UConn’s schools or colleges.
