    Literacy Tutor (2020-21, AmeriCorps)

Do you believe that literacy is a human right?

The Literacy Lab is an AmeriCorps partner program providing early literacy intervention for students ages 3 to grade 3 through individualized support. We partner with school districts in Springfield and Holyoke, as well as other cities across the country. During their one-year service term, tutors receive training and support, a modest cost-of-living stipend, health insurance, and are eligible for SNAP benefits if they choose to use them.

The Literacy Lab works to close the achievement gap by providing pre-K and elementary schools with evidence-based literacy intervention, full-time literacy tutors to implement the model, and assessment tools and a coaching support structure that ensures the success of the program and students. If you have an interest in education, non-profits, social justice, or community empowerment, we encourage you to consider our one-year program!

Check out our Year at a Glance and FAQ page to learn more about the commitment, locations, benefits, and application process. After reviewing, you can submit an application here. We hope to have you join our team!
