  • Cohen Student Leadership Scholarship

As a result of the generosity of UConn alumnus Stephen Cohen, who passed away in January 2017, our office is able to expand The Cohen Student Leadership Scholarship, previously a part of the Student Life Awards, into its own scholarship program.

The scholarship will recognize students who have demonstrated a significant and active commitment to eliminating bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination and to fostering tolerance and understanding among the campus community as a direct result of their active membership in their Registered Student Organization. You can learn more about the scholarship here: https://cohenscholarship.uconn.edu/

Depending on the nomination pool we will be able to award multiple student scholarships. The recipients will be required to engage in a few educational workshops in the spring semester designed to further their good work addressing the topics of eliminating bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination within their student organization. At the completion of the program students will receive their scholarship at our 2ndAnnual Cohen Scholarship Dinner on March 26th, 2020.

I’m hoping you can participate in our inaugural year by helping us recognize an outstanding group of students, and I invite you to consider nominating students you feel qualify for this scholarship.

We are accepting nominations until Friday, November 15th. You can nominate students and find instructions on how to nominate here: https://cohenscholarship.uconn.edu/apply/
