  • Full-Time Position - Undergraduate Admissions Rep.

    Project/Program Specialist

    Admissions Representative

    Office of Undergraduate Admissions

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Connecticut is seeking to hire several Admissions Representatives to support the university-wide effort to make the incoming Class of 2025 the most academically competitive, socially diverse, and talented class to date.

Admissions Representatives will represent the University of Connecticut and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by hosting information sessions at secondary schools, distributing information and responding to inquiries at college fairs and related programs throughout the country either in-person or virtually. They will communicate with prospective applicants, their parents, and secondary school counselors concerning the benefits of a UConn education, the variety of educational opportunities available, the nature of the undergraduate student experience, and the academic standards and criteria for admission to the University.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to the most recent University of Connecticut graduates who have taken an active role in research and/or campus activities and have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence.

Appointment Terms: This is a special payroll (temporary) full-time position running from late-July through late-October and requires travel and flexible and irregular hours. As these positions may need to bring information materials to various locations, incumbents should be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. These positions may be extended through February 2025 to continue assisting with application review and additional recruitment programs as needed. Determination of an extension is not guaranteed and will be based upon a review of performance and available funding. The University covers all travel expenses related to official UConn recruitment only. This appointment may afford you the opportunity to purchase optional State employee health insurance at group rates.

To Apply: please submit a cover letter, resume and the list of three professional references with contact information via PageUp at: Search 493625 - Admissions Representative. Please note that this application does not guarantee appointment. Applicants missing any of the requested documentation will not be considered further in the application process. Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled. Successful candidates will be contacted in mid-April to schedule an interview. Questions about this position can be referred to Bryan Feener at bryan.feener@uconn.edu

Employment of the successful candidate is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check.
