    Subject: Honors Housing – Storrs

    Dear Honors students,

Clearly you all are just as excited as we are by the new Honors housing options on the Storrs campus for 2024-2025. Applications to upper division Honors housing are at an all-time high, as is overall demand for on-campus housing. Before we move on to the next step of the housing selection process, we want to give you some idea of what to expect in terms of room availability.

We currently have over 720 applications for the upper-division Honors community, and we expect a few dozen more from Honors students who will be campus changing to Storrs. Based on prior years’ demand, we originally allocated approximately 600 beds to the Honors community. We have been able to add rooms in Shippee to bring that total to 744 beds.

This Friday, February 23, Honors students who applied on time and selected the Honors community will be sent the Upper Division Honors Acceptance Form. To live in Honors housing next year, you must complete this form by March 8. This acceptance form is binding: by completing it, you indicate that you will select a room in the Honors community. If you do not complete the form, you will not be able to select a room in the Honors community.

We recognize that the decision whether or not to complete the Residential Community Acceptance Form is complex. We cannot guarantee specific buildings or room types, but we have placed additional information about credit ranges and likely building availability at https://honors.uconn.edu/housing/2024-2025. Please review this carefully.

After reviewing the credit range information, if you want to proceed with plans to live in Honors housing:

    • Complete the Upper Division Honors Acceptance form in your MyHousing portal by March 8
    • Match with your Honors roommate in MyHousing starting March 22
    • Participate in Honors housing selection April 1-2

On the other hand, if you no longer wish to live in Honors housing:

    • Do notcomplete the Upper Division Honors Acceptance form; this will inform us you want to participate in the general housing selection
    • Match with your requested roommates in MyHousing starting March 22
    • Participate in general housing selection April 8-26

As always, watch your email and MyHousing for important updates, and email livingoncampus@uconn.edu if you have questions.
