The American Enterprise Institute is hosting the National Student Conference on Hispanic Politics in Miami from October 8-9, 2021 and invites students in the Honors Program at the University of Connecticut to apply for participation. Participation in this conference will be cost-free for all selected students, with meals, travel, and lodging fully covered.
Open to undergraduate students from all political and ethnic backgrounds, the purpose of this conference is to immerse rising student leaders in unique perspectives on issues that are relevant for all Americans, and to highlight the Hispanic community’s diversity of thought.
Students will get the chance to hear from leaders in public policy, government, and the media through keynote panels and private breakout sessions. Topics will include the future of the Hispanic electorate, intergenerational mobility, Latin America in an age of great power competition, environmental policy, the Cuban protests, and much more.
A brief application is required for this conference and selection will be competitive. Admissions will be made on a rolling basis with a deadline to apply of September 12, 2021. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early to give themselves the best chance of being selected.
