  • Seniors Applying for MS or PhD Degree

    Hello UConn Honors Seniors,

Planning to apply to graduate programs for a MS or PhD degree?  Then check out UConn’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Within each of our three graduate programs (see brochure https://pharmacy.uconn.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/2740/2020/09/UConn_Pharmacy_Pharmaceutical-Sciences-2020.pdf   ), students gain multi-disciplined research expertise.  Tailored to the student’s thesis, this may include material science, engineering, chemistry, structural biology, pharmacology, and/or toxicology.  Get to know us on-line at

Our three graduate programs have translational relevance to areas such as drug discovery, mechanism of action, drug formulation and safety, chemical formulations, and cell signaling.  All programs have unique core courses providing fundamental concepts critical to basic and applied research.  Our department enjoys significant success in placing our MS and PhD graduates both locally and nationally in government, industry, and academia.  Please review the Department brochure linked above.  The UConn Grad School application portal is at grad.uconn.edu.   Department contact is Deidre McAvoy, deirdre.mcavoy@uconn.edu.
