  • Travel Signature Reminders for Spring Break

Are you planning to travel outside the U.S. during spring or summer break? If so, don’t forget that you must have a valid travel signature on your I-20 or DS-2019! Please check page two of your current I-20 or the bottom of your DS-2019 to determine if you already have a valid signature.  As a reminder, travel signatures are valid for one year (if a current student).

If you plan to travel during a break period and you require a travel signature, you MUST submit your travel request through the ISSS website by Friday, March 3, 2023 to receive your I-20 or DS-2019 with travel signature from ISSS by March 10, 2023. If you have a valid signature on your I-20 or DS-2019 you should still report your travel plans here: https://isss.uconn.edu/travel/#howtoapplyforatravelsignature

Steps to obtain a Travel Signature:

Step 1: Complete the Travel Information Record online here: https://isss.uconn.edu/travel/#howtoapplyforatravelsignature

Step 2:  If you are an F-1 student: Your travel signature will be issued electronically, and you do NOT need to drop off your I-20. You will receive a notification when your signed I-20 is available to you in your ISSS portal.

If you are a J-1 student or scholar: Please drop off your current DS-2019 for signature at Center for International Students & Scholars. You will receive a notification when your signed DS-2019 is ready for pick-up at CISS.

Remember: You do not need a travel signature if you are traveling in the U.S.

Have a safe and wonderful spring break!
