SOWK 2000: Social Justice in the Social Work Profession - being offered to all UConn undergraduates Fall 2025!
This course is being offered to non-social work majors and all undergraduates for the first time this year, and introduces students to social justice and the values of human rights as the ethical foundation for the profession of social work. This course is a particularly good fit for students interested in exploring issues of human rights and social justice, and it is especially appropriate for those who may be considering careers in social work, counseling, community organizing, public policy, and other careers that focus on individual, community, and/or policy-level change.
Please also note that SOWK 2000 satisfies Content Area 2 General Education/ TOI-3 and TOI-5 requirements. Multiple sections are being offered this upcoming Fall: Tuesdays or Thursdays 4:00-6:30pm.
