The Honors Program is looking for UNIV Facilitators for the Fall 2022 semester! Facilitators play a key role in the experience of first-year honors students by facilitating their own sections of UNIV 1784. All honors students who have previously taken UNIV 1784 are eligible to become facilitators. This position is a chance to grow as a leader, challenge yourself in new and exciting ways, and give back to the UConn honors community. One previous facilitator described the experience as incredibly rewarding, saying that it taught them not only about peer education but also about themselves, their strengths and weaknesses, and their potential as a leader. If you’re a first-year student, ask your facilitators about their experience!
Interested students should apply using this link: https://honors.uconn.edu/univ-1784/. The application is due November 24th and applications will be reviewed over winter break. Students who are selected to become facilitators will be notified in January and provided a permission number to enroll in EGEN 3200. EGEN 3200 is a 3-credit honors course about leadership and peer mentoring that we use to train future facilitators. This course is required for all facilitators, and it will take place on Wednesdays from 2:30-5:00pm next semester. Interested applicants should ensure that this time slot is available on their schedules. EGEN 3200 is in the Social Sciences category for the University Honors Laureate distribution requirement.
