    Volunteers Needed Urgently: Help Immigrant Clients through our Asylum Information Sessions

    We are looking for extremely conscientious and reliable individuals who can commit to 6-8 hours on one or more Saturdays in December and January. These sessions will be offered in both New Haven and Hartford.

     

    Volunteer roles for will include:

     

    • General Administration (printing, copying, greeting individuals, and checking them in)

    • Interpretation, especially Spanish, Haitian Creole, Ukrainian - native or near native 

    • Group Leaders (supervising small groups and assisting clients as needed) 

    • Wellness Support - providing overall assistance to ensure participants are comfortable

     

    For those running the workshops, we will provide a mix of online and in person training so that they are able to do so effectively. All other roles will be directly supported by IRIS staff.

     

    If you are interested and can commit to the time requirement, please fill out this Google form! We would also love to invite you to a volunteer information session next week where you can get more details and ask any specific questions you may have. If you’d like to attend one of the sessions, please indicate that in the Google form. That will prompt us to send over a Zoom link.
