  • TO TAKE MORE THAN 17 CREDITS

    To take 18 credits in the fall:

    • You must have earned a 2.6 or higher term GPA (not cumulative) in the previous semester. 
    • Email the Registrar's Office to ask them to increase your limit: registrar@uconn.edu

    To take more than 18 credits in the fall:

    • You must have earned a 2.6 or higher term GPA (not cumulative) in the previous semester. 
    • Fill out the EXCESS CREDIT FORM found here: https://clasadvising.uconn.edu
    • It will be reviewed by the CLAS Academic Services Center (ASC) who will let you know of the decision

    To take more than your allotted number of credits in the summer:

    • You must have earned a 2.6 or higher term GPA (not cumulative) in the previous semester. 
    • Fill out the EXCESS CREDIT FORM found here: https://clasadvising.uconn.edu
    • It will be reviewed by the CLAS Academic Services Center (ASC) who will let you know of the decision

     

    Before taking Excess Credit, consider whether you believe this will be a wise decision for your academics and if you have the ability to take on an excess courseload while still being successful in your coursework. You may speak with an advisor if you would like to discuss.
