The 2020 Quiet Corner Garden Club’s College Scholarship(s) will be awarded to currently-attending college students who live in the Quiet Corner and are majoring in an agriculture/ horticulture-related field of study:Agronomy, Botany, City Planning, Conservation, Environmental Studies, Floriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Land Management, Landscape Design, Plant Pathology, Aquaponics, Natural Resources and/or related subject.
The number of scholarships and exact amounts will be determined following our annual fundraising events and will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement, leadership qualities, community service, letter of recommendation and student essay.
Applications and instructions are available at college career offices, local libraries, by email at QCgardenclub@gmail.com, or via the Quiet Corner Garden Club’s website. In addition to the completed application, the applicant should provide:
- His or her personal statement addressing the reasons he/she is qualified for the scholarship, including career goals and why he/she has chosen this area of study. The statement should be no longer than one page, double-spaced.
- A copy of an acceptance letter or provisional acceptance letter from the college to which he or she has been accepted.
- A copy of his/her college school transcript.
- One or more letters of recommendation (not from a family member).
The application deadline is April 30, 2020. Only applications received on or before that deadline are considered. Applications will not be returned. Recipients will be notified by May 30th. For any questions or concerns, please email us at QCgardenclub@gmail.com
