    Job Description

    Connecticut Institute of Water Resources – Student Worker Position

    Provides assistance to staff and faculty in the preparation of informational or promotional print media and/or public relations. May be required to:

    • Write articles, press releases, newsletters, media guides, programs, and other informational or promotional materials for both hardcopy print and web-based formats, including social media
    • Conduct interviews by phone or in person
    • Conduct research utilizing databases, archives, internet, and other information sources
    • Attend and cover CT IWR events
    • Perform basic administrative duties such as filing, data entry, etc.
    • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings
    • Perform miscellaneous duties as required
    Job Requirements

    Requirements:

    • Previous writing or public relations work experience in a similar position
    • Advanced writing and verbal communication skills
    • Social media and/or marketing experience
    • Ability to meet stringent deadlines in project-driven environment
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • May need to work some evenings and weekends
    • Good working knowledge of related software applications (e.g., Word, Publisher, Twitter, etc.)
