    MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERNSHIP

    FALL 2019

     

     

    The Goodspeed Musicals Marketing & Public Relations department offers an internship for someone with strong writing, computer and organizing skills for the Fall 2019 semester. Join us for an internship like no other! Flexible schedule, varied responsibilities, challenging and invigorating work. This can be a wonderful experience for a quick learner and willing worker who can work independently on several projects at once and be flexible about hours and duties as a member of the marketing, public relations and group sales team.     Duties include assistance with single ticket and subscription campaigns; writing/editing copy and design and layout of direct mail pieces and print ads; press release editing; maintaining the press and photo archives; poster and brochure distribution, updating the press and patron list database; assisting with creating audience surveys and new e-marketing concepts. Intern must have his/her own transportation (mileage for company errands is reimbursed) and must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.

     

    Requirements: Completion of at least freshman year of college, should have strong writing skills, pay great attention to detail, computer proficiency (Excel, Word, internet searching; some graphic design experience helpful). Candidates must have an Interest in the performing arts and marketing. 15-20 hours per week; intern will occasionally be asked to intern/volunteer during evening and/or weekend events. Access to car/valid driver's license required. Internships are unpaid but interns receive academic credit if desired and are eligible for invitations to cast parties and free tickets to Goodspeed and other area shows. Interns may also qualify for one-of-a-kind job/school recommendations, professional referrals, and community networking.

     

    Interns are also eligible for The Andrew A. Isen Prize at Goodspeed Musicals. The prize, to be given annually, will recognize a young person between the ages of 20-29 who has demonstrated excellence in their work during the previous Goodspeed Musicals season.
