Temple B’nai Israel is looking for a creative candidate who can help our Temple develop and continue an integrated marketing strategy designed to increase awareness and visibility of our synagogue, and effectively communicate our wish to provide an inspiring environment for the Jewish community in Northeastern Connecticut.
This part-time contract position requires strong communications and organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and the desire to work with our member(s) to implement a continuing marketing and communications program. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications or related field is required, including the ability to use social media and other platforms to disseminate information and assess impact. Passion and knowledge of the Jewish community is preferred; however, Temple Bnai Israel is committed to diversity in our search.
This position is funded by a one-time grant. Salary will be $25-30/hr commensurate with background and experience. No benefits are included.
The qualified candidate will:
- Engage in assessment and analysis of avenues for increased visibility (via stakeholder interviews and review of current initiatives), in order to develop recommendations and propose next steps.
- Collaborate and communicate progress/outcomes with synagogue marketing team on an on-going basis, and identify potential avenues for sustainability of efforts.
- Develop, design, and curate, relevant content with clear messaging across social media channels.
- Assist in the development and production of high-quality materials including but not limited to flyers, videos, and search engine placement.
- Maintain and strengthen positive relationships with Temple membership, staff, and community at large.
