    Moody’s Investors Service is looking for a student majoring in public relations, communications, or journalism to join our in-house communications team this summer.

    This will be a paid internship where the student can also get credit, and work with a team of 13 professionals in New York and a couple dozen more in Europe and Asia.

    The internship would start on or about June 3 and end either August 9 or 16.

    Moody’s is located in downtown Manhattan at 7 World Trade Center, and is easy to get to from anywhere in the city and New Jersey by mass transit. Moreover, we will have a small army of interns all over the company this summer, and we also have several summer programs where the interns can meet with Moody’s executives to learn more about our business and life after graduation.

    The Role / Responsibilities: The position will support the communications and media relations team in New York, and specifically:

    • Support communications strategists with outreach efforts surrounding research publications
    • Operate the press line and inbox dedicated to media relations activities
    • Compile media coverage reports for research reports and other promotional campaigns
    • Build and maintain media distribution lists
    • Write and/or edit communications materials including press releases, social media copy or Moodys.com content (depending on writing skill and communications acumen)
    • Assist the communications strategists with pitching reports and high profile rating actions, as well as staffing media briefings and interviews as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Major in journalism, public relations or mass communication
    • Basic knowledge of finance or economics
    • Strong writing and diligent editing skills
    • Experience with databases or content management systems
    • Very strong verbal communication skills
    • Literacy in mass media and enthusiasm for news
    • Excellent reading comprehension
