This course for non-science majors will examine the chemistry underlying some of the more contentious issues in America today, with the goal of understanding and critiquing the various perspectives on these issues. Possible topics include climate change, childhood vaccinations, evolution, genetically modified organisms, and the nature of scientific investigation. Classes will focus on discussions of readings and videos.
