Guilty of taking photos for Instagram wherever you go? Active on campus? Enjoy working with various people across campus and in the community?
University Communications is seeking a UConn student to create content for UConn’s flagship social media channels.
The Social Media Content Producer will join UConn’s Social Media Content multi-campus team to support coverage of UConn in capacities ranging from writing, editing, posting, video assistance, social media, graphics, and analytics. The candidate should have strong writing skills and a comprehension of marketing basics in order to help identify opportunities and write copy to pair with the content produced.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Create and share posts on social media platforms in coordination with various departments
- Assist in creating graphics and visuals for social media posts
- Capture real-time moments for social media in the form of videos and photos
- Gather and analyze digital and social analytic reports during, and at the conclusion of, campaigns
We are looking for someone who can work up to 5 hours per week to create graphics, to capture events, and to cover other happenings on campus. Night and weekend hours may be required. Potential for additional hours in the future.
Work study students are preferred, but all qualified students are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have strong photography skills and be able to demonstrate dependability and impeccable judgment.
Job Requirements:
- Must demonstrate Instagram-worthy photography skills. iPhone photography is sufficient. DSLR knowledge not a requirement.
- Must demonstrate solid understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
- Must exhibit dependability & sound judgment
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and other editing platforms required
