Internship, Career and Grad School Prep

  • Intern or Volunteer with CONNPIRG

This year—2018—our generation will be the largest and most diverse group of potential voters in the country, with our own values and ideas. The stakes are high, and together we have the power to elect the next generation of leaders who care about the things we do, and will fight for our vision of the future, but only if we vote. In November, we will get to weigh in on Connecticut’s governor race, State Senate, and Federal representation. Here at UConnPIRG, we will help to register 2,500 students to vote and have professional organizers and skill trainings to help UConn students learn the basics of how to do non-partisan voter registration and mobilization.

    Additionally, we are working on:

    • Helping the hungry and homeless locally
    • Saving the bees
    • Making textbooks more affordable
    • Zero waste

We are looking for passionate students to join our team!

CONNPIRG interns learn valuable organizing skills, like building and leading teams of volunteers, organizing events on campus, lobbying elected officials, and working with the media. In addition to building their skills and resume, they work to create tangible policy change in the public interest.
