Field Directors
Connecticut Senate Democrats are seeking Field Directors to build and execute aggressive field programs on a variety of projects for the upcoming year. We are looking for dedicated individuals with a breadth of field experience at different levels. Successful candidates will be numbers-driven and analytical. We look for detail-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative staff who can thrive in a high-pressure team environment.
The Field Director position is intended for graduating seniors and alumni as it requires full-time availability through Election Day and pays $3,000 per month.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting or managing grasstops politics
- Managing field staff
- Recruiting, training, and managing paid and volunteer field programs
- Reporting on a regular basis progress to goal
- Delivering program assessments and recommending strategic adjustments as needed
Required Skills and Qualities
- 1-3 cycles of field experience
- The ability to train and motivate community-based volunteer groups
- Mastery of voter contact programs, i.e. VAN
- Mastery of basic office programs including the Microsoft office suite, excel and file share programs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and task organizing skills
- The ability to solve problems
- The ability to self-assess and self-manage
Job Requirements
- Ability to travel independently
- Ability to work extended hours
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time
- Ability to relocate if necessary
