    Student Commencement Speaker

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking two graduating undergraduate students to speak at each of the commencement ceremonies (one student per ceremony) on Sunday, May 6th.

Students who are interested should submit a typed manuscript of their speech, which should be no longer than 5 spoken minutes (~750 words) to clas_commencement@uconn.edu. Submissions will be accepted until noon on Friday, March 9.

The student speaker committee, which will include faculty, staff, and students from CLAS, will review all submissions, and select five to move on to the next phase of the competition. During this next phase, students will be asked to present their speeches to the committee, as if they were giving it on commencement day.

After the committee has heard the speeches, they will select two students to speak at commencement, and name one alternate. Selections will be made no later than April 9th.
