The Mansfield Downtown Partnership Committee on Branding and Promotion is looking for a Student Representative.
The Downtown Partnership is a coordinating services organization created by UConn, the Town of Mansfield, and Storrs Center businesses. Its goals are the further development of Downtown Storrs as a regional center for business and community-building activities that include UConn, Mansfield, and surrounding towns. The Partnership has just completed a large strategic marketing and promotion plan project with Dornenburg and Kallenbach Advertising (Todd Kallenbach is a Communication grad).
The Committee is forming a steering group to implement the strategic plan, and would like to add a student representative.
The steering group's charge is to translate the recommendations of the strategic plan into concrete marketing, advertising, and promotion events and programs that the Downtown Partnership staff or outside contractors can implement. It will likely meet monthly for a couple of hours, so the total time commitment for a student would be small.
It's a chance for a student interested in Marketing Communication or Public Relations to be involved in the creative process of developing real, targeted communication and promotional activities. It would make an excellent resume entry.
