  • American Statistical Association Fellowship

     

    ASA Fellowships - American Statistical Association (ASA), National Science Foundation (NSF), U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics

     

     

    The American Statistical Association, with the NSF, offers fellowships which strive to fund interdisciplinary research at federal agencies for up to 1 year. National Science Foundation, along with the ASA, offers competitive fellowship programs. The general objective of the program is to foster collaborative and interdisciplinary activities that will stimulate the development of methodology and analytic research relevant to the sponsoring Federal agencies. Those federal agencies are: the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, U.S. Census Bureau, and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The duration of the fellowships is six months up to a year depending on the center. For the ASA/NSF/BLS fellowships, it is expected that Fellows will conduct much of their work at BLS in Washington, DC.

    Physical Sciences. Social Sciences. School of Engineering. Statistics, social science research, computer scientists, geographers.

     

    ACADEMIC LEVEL
    Prospective Graduate Students. Current Graduate Students. Students Working on Master's Thesis. Students Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholars.
     

    CITIZENSHIP

    No citizenship requirements. U.S. citizenship is not required, but applicants must be affiliated with a U.S. institution.

     

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Applicants for fellowships should have academically recognized research records and considerable expertise in their areas of proposed research. A CV. Names and addresses of 3 references. A research proposal with background information, expected results, relevance of the research to BEA's mission, and budget. U.S. government employees are not eligible to apply.

     

    STIPEND

    The stipends received by researchers in this program are commensurate with their qualifications and experience. Budget may include salary, benefits, travel towards work and conferences, and housing and travel in DC. Possibly renewable.

     

    DEADLINES

    12/10/2017   12/15/2017   1/2/2018  
    The first deadline corresponds to the Census Bureau fellowship, the second to the BEA, and the third to the BLS.
