    Job Description

    Provides assistance to staff and faculty in the preparation of informational or promotional print media and/or public relations. May be required to: Write articles, press releases, newsletters, media guides, programs, and other informational or promotional materials for both hardcopy print and web-based formats (may specialize in a particular content area) Conduct interviews by phone or in person Conduct research utilizing databases, archives, internet, and other information sources Attend and cover University events Assist in training of other student employees Perform basic administrative duties such as filing, data entry, word processing, etc. Participate in training sessions and staff meetings Perform miscellaneous duties as required

    Job Requirements

    Previous writing or public relations work experience in a similar position Advanced writing and verbal communication skills Ability to meet stringent deadlines in project-driven environment Ability to work with minimal supervision May need to work some evenings and weekends Good working knowledge of related software applications (e.g., Word, Publisher)

    Hourly Rate$11.50/hour to $13.45/hour, depends on experience
