The Social, Environmental, and Economic Justice Committee of GEU-UAW Local 6950 will meet on Weds, Oct 4 at 3:00pm in Beach 425. We will discuss our agenda for the coming semester, including the situation in Puerto Rico and how our union can help. We will also hear back from delegates who attended the Labor Convergence on Climate. If you are interested in joining the S.E.E. Justice Committee but cannot make it to this meeting, please let us know. We will also report back and vote on any proposals introduced by the committee at our monthly membership meeting later in the day at 6:00pm in Gentry 144.
As part of our ongoing efforts to help build a labor-climate justice movement in the U.S., we would also like to ask all union members on campus to consider signing on to an open letter to the top leaders of the U.S. labor movement urging them to support a just transition to a renewable energy future.
