    Student Data and Communications Specialist

    The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Scholars Program is seeking out an energetic individual with strong Excel and data management skills (not talking about pivot tables here, just strong data management of 20-25 columns of data over multiple years), excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to self-direct in an independent work setting. (No micro- management here!)

    The ideal candidate will have completed their undergraduate education and have comfort interacting with STEM students, faculty, and staff. The position is for 10-15 hours per week and the hours would need to be completed between the business hours of 8AM-5PM. Scheduling is flexible but given the nature of the needs of the program, a minimum of 3 days weekly is required.

    Required Skills/Attributes

    • Extensive experience using Excel for tracking data longitudinally
    • Comfort with online databases related to federal grants
    • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability and willingness to participate in programmatic functions including coordination of student events
    • Flexibility and creativity around providing services to undergraduate STEM students
    •  A positive attitude is necessary!
    • Ability to work for at least part of the winter break period (specifics are negotiable)

    Preferred Skills/Attributes

    • Experience using HuskyCT including gradebook
    • Familiarity and comfort using PeopleSoft
    • Ability to update websites using HTML
    • Previous experience with STEM students
    • Previous experience with underrepresented populations in higher education Pay rate: $17.00 per hour
