Research, Funding and Awards

  • Fall 2017 Doctoral Student Travel Funding

The Graduate School is pleased to again provide travel funding to support a limited number of doctoral students presenting his/her research at national or international meetings/conferences.   The first application cycle is designated for fall 2017 travel and is now available.  The second application cycle is reserved for spring 2018.

As of January 1, 2017, students who are eligible may apply for a one-time only maximum amount of $750.00 in travel reimbursement funds.  Any funds not used for that travel occurrence will not be carried forward for future use.  No reimbursement is available once a student is awarded their degree.

Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible as funding may run out.

Once the application is completed and signed by the student, student’s advisor and department head or his/her designee, the application should be returned to The Graduate School by e-mail ( graduatedean@uconn.edu ) or in person at The Whetten Graduate Center, second floor, no later than six (6) weeks before the travel will occur.  The application will then be reviewed for eligibility and a decision will be emailed to the student as well as the student’s program graduate coordinator.

Awards for travel during July 2017 will be reviewed first.  After July travel requests, the awards will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
