    Social Media Internship

    Lizzie's Catering (http://www.lizziescurbside.com/), is looking for a Social Media Intern for the Fall 2017 semester. The principal deliverable of the internship is to devise and implement a dynamic social media presence that extends beyond the current Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/lizziescurbsidecuisine/).

    Lizzie (aka Lizanne Searing http://www.lizziescurbside.com/about-us) and her cart have been a staple on the "south side" of the UConn Storrs campus for close to twenty-seven years.  They are looking to expand their advertising in an effort to attract new customers from other parts of campus, as well as from the larger community.

    Requirements:

    • Communication major with an interest in social media, marketing or advertising
    • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency including: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of the following social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat
    • Photo editing experience
    • Outstanding communication skills – both verbal and written
    • Willingness to take initiative and think creatively
    • Able to work in a team environment
    • Ability to initiate conversation(!)

    Responsibilities:  Implement your marketing skills to increase sales outside of normal customer base. This may include but it not limited to designing:

    • Flyers/Brochures/Coupons
    • Email campaigns
    • Website input (See http://www.lizziescurbside.com/)
    • Expand outreach by using social media platforms to advertise products and services
    • Develop innovative and creative approaches for new sales initiatives and promotions
    • Hours are flexible depending on your schedule and credit requirements.  Please contact the advising office if you would like to receive credit for the internship.*

    Compensation:  This is not a paid internship; however we do offer a delicious food stipend!
