Dean's Announcements

  • Graduate Collaborative Research Awards

    Colleagues,

The University of Connecticut is a member of Universitas 21, a global network of research intensive universities. You may have heard of them, because UConn participates in the annual U21 Virtual 3-minute thesis competition. I’m writing now to let you know about another U21-sponsored activity for which graduate students are eligible, the Graduate Collaborative Research Awards: http://universitas21.com/article/research/details/304/graduate-collaborative-research-awards . These awards are to support student-generated and student-led projects that involve students from other U21 members in research activities that will contribute to their doctoral research. The list of U21 member institutions is available at http://universitas21.com/member .

The deadline for applications is 1 August 2017, decisions will be announced by 15 September 2017, and the funds associated with successful applications will be available (through The Graduate School) by 31 October 2017. Brief descriptions of the projects funded in 2016 are available at: http://universitas21.com/article/research/details/317/graduate-research-projects-awarded-in-2016 . I was a member of last year’s selection committee. Please feel free to contact me for advice if you are considering an application.
