Deadlines

  • Honors Thesis Extensions

With the permission of their thesis supervisor and Honors advisor, students may have extensions for the Honors thesis through May 12 without having to notify the Honors Program

If the Honors supervisor and Honors advisor agree and student needs more time, a further thesis extension may be granted through June 14 at noon. To earn a May 2017 degree, the Honors thesis must be submitted in hard copy to the Honors Program office with a signed thesis approval form, all grades and Honors credit must be noted on the transcript, and all normal and Honors degree requirements must be met by the degree deadline. To request a further extension, a student must email honors@uconn.edu indicating a submission date (to the Honors Program) on which they have agreed with his/her advisor/supervisor.

June 14 at noon is the final deadline for meeting the May 2017 degree conferral cut-off.  We highly recommend that students aim for earlier dates to allow for time for reviewing, grading, and processing.  Completion after June 14 at noon, will result in a delayed degree

Students may delay their degrees and continue to work beyond June 14 in order to complete the Honors Scholar graduation requirements providing their Honors advisors and thesis supervisors agree. Students cannot earn their degrees and then later add the Honors Scholar designation. The next degree conferral after May 2017 is August 2017.
