    Responsibilities:
    The Student Writer works with, and at the direction of, the Materials Science and Engineering’s (MSE) Webmaster/Publicist to write features and news
    stories for the MSE website (http://www.mse.engr.uconn.edu), MSE news-
    letter, and other print and electronic media. Assignments will include interviewing sources, conducting research and finding story opportunities.


    Required Skills:
    The qualified student writer should be an excellent communicator and possess

    • excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and reporting skills
    • the ability to complete assignments and duties on a deadline is essential
    • attention to detail and tenacity to see projects to completion is expected.
    • commitment and interest in marketing/communications fields.

    Desired: Minimum of 15 hours per week

    Time Frame: Fall 2017

    Hourly Rate: $12/hour
