  • Applying for Fulbright Grants: Nuts and Bolts

    Former Fulbright grant recipients and a Fulbright program advisor discuss tips for developing Fulbright projects, connecting with institutions and individuals in a host country to craft a project, writing the Fulbright application itself and other nuts and bolts about Fulbright applications and grants.  This panel and Q&A is for students considering applying to be Fulbright Fellows or those with terminal degrees interested in applying for Fulbright Scholar/Research Chair awards.  

    Panelists:

    • LuAnn Saunders-Kanabay, Assistant Director, Office of National Scholarships & Fellowships & Fulbright Program Advisor for UConn.
    • Carol Gray, J.D., UConn PhD candidate in Political Science. Fulbright Peer Reviewer (fall 2014). Fulbright Visiting Research Chair, Montreal, Canada (2013-14). Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar, Egypt (2010-Feb.2011).
    • Zareen Thomas, UConn PhD candidate in Anthropology, U.S. Fulbright Fellow to Colombia (2014-2015); Inter-American Foundation grant recipient to Bolivia.  Currently teaching ANTH & WGSS courses at UConn and writing her dissertation.
    • Kamryn Warren, UConn PhD candidate in Sociology who recently returned from a 2015-2016 Fulbright in Nepal. Now teaching Sociology and Human Rights courses while writing her dissertation.
