  • Dr. John Christensen on Television!

    Our own Dr. John Christensen—who teaches undergraduate and graduate COMM courses, and researches the improvement of health outcomes through persuasive communication technologies—will be joining a roundtable discussion on the study of video games, gaming, and its effects.  

    The roundtable is hosted by Education Matters, a regularly-aired production focused on discussing news, issues, and programs related to local education.  The show is sponsored by public access station, CTV-192, in Windham, CT.

    The roundtable episode on gaming feature professors who are currently teaching, researching, and running programs at Yale University School of Medicine, University of Connecticut, and Eastern Connecticut State University:

    • Dr. William Lugo, Associate Professor of Sociology/Department Chair, ESCU
    • Dr. Jordan Youngblood, Assistant Professor of English & Department Representative to the New Media Studies major, ESCU
    • Dr. Kimberly Hieftje, Associate Research Scientist, Yale University School of Medicine

    The show will be taped on Wednesday, April 26, and will air in a few weeks on CTV-192, accessible to the Charter Spectrum subscribers.  The episode will also be available on the VOD arhives of the station website, ctv192.com.
