Ford Fellowship Information Session
A panel of faculty and students will provide insight on the Ford Foundation Fellowship Program application process on Monday, April 24th.
Panelists for the session include faculty members Matthew Hughey (Associate Professor, Sociology), Gladis Kersaint (Dean and Professor of Mathematics Education), Melina Pappademos (Associate Professor, History and Interim Director, African Studies Institute), and student winners Jorell Melendez Badillo (History) and Stephany Santos (Biomedical Engineering), who will discuss the “nuts and bolts” of applying as well as discipline specific information.

Through its Fellowship Programs, the Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.
Ford Foundation Fellowship Program: Achieving Excellence in College and University Teaching
- Eligibility: U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Membership of underrepresented group. Committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level.
- Fields: Almost all fields. See list.
- Support: Three years of a $24,000 stipend, which must be used within five years.
