The purpose of this training is to build upon the information that graduate students receive in their face-to-face orientations while supplementing their training with critical information regarding support services and resources. Designed in collaboration with the Graduate School, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and the Neag School of Education, the Graduate Assistant Program for Teaching and Instruction aims to provide graduate students with opportunities to develop foundational knowledge and skills useful in their current and future teaching positions.

This training also serves as a prerequisite for those enrolling in the optional Graduate Certificate in College Teaching and Instruction (GCCI). The mission of this newly redesigned program is to guide and support students as they become college instructors and aid in the development of teaching pedagogy, philosophies, and portfolios for job searches. Successful completion of this advanced credential will set individuals apart in an increasingly competitive academic job market.
