    Aga Khan Foundation for International Students

    Students from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Madagascar, France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada may be eligible for funding from the Aga Khan Foundation. A limited number of scholarships are provided each year to outstanding students from developing countries with no other means of financing their studies. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant, 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July. The Foundation gives priority to requests for Master's level courses but is also willing to consider applications for PhD programs, when doctoral degrees are necessary for the career objectives of the student.

    Civil Society Scholar Awards for International Academic Mobility

    The Civil Society Scholar Awards (CSSA) support international academic mobility to enable doctoral students and university faculty to access resources that enrich socially engaged research and critical scholarship in their home country or region. The awards support activities such as fieldwork (data collection); research visits to libraries, archives, or universities; course/curriculum development; and international collaborations leading to a peer-reviewed publication.

    Mathematica Policy Research Summer Fellowships

    The Summer Fellowship Program at Mathematica Policy Research welcomes doctoral students to spend 12 weeks at one of Mathematica’s six office locations. Fellows will work on their own independent research project, which will intersect with one or more of Mathematica’s focus areas: Data analytics, Disability, Early childhood, Education, Employment, Environment, Family support, Health, International development, Nutrition. Fellows will be mentored by senior staff, learn about Mathematica and its work, and have the opportunity to shadow Mathematica staff members working on research projects and proposals. At the conclusion of the fellowship, fellows will present a seminar on their research project. Each fellow will receive a stipend of $10,000, plus $500 in project related expenses.

    Norway-American Association

    The purpose of the scholarships is to provide financial support for Americans to study in Norway. By supporting post-graduate study or research in areas of mutual importance to Norway and the United States we hope to bring the two countries closer. By awarding scholarships to American students or researchers, knowledge and understanding will increase, and it will strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries. Fellowships are offered to Americans and Norwegians for a year of graduate, post-doctoral, or professional study/research.

    Organization of American States – Rowe Fund Interest Free Loans

    The Rowe Fund is an educational loan program of the Organization of American States (OAS) that helps citizens from Latin America and Caribbean OAS Member States finance their studies or research in accredited universities across the United States by awarding interest-free loans of up to $15,000 dollars. By financing a portion of their studies in the United States, the Rowe Fund helps students complete their education while at the same time fostering cultural diversity, friendship, and communication among the people of the Americas.

    Resources for the Future Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships and Summer Internships

    RFF’s mission is to improve environmental and natural resource policymaking worldwide through objective social science research of the highest caliber. In honor of former RFF President Joseph L. Fisher, RFF awards academic fellowships in support of doctoral dissertation research on issues related to the environment, natural resources, or energy. For the 2017–2018 academic year, the fellowship carries a stipend of $18,000, which is intended to be a student's principal source of support.

    RFF offers summer internships for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. Each intern can expect to work with one or more RFF researcher on a variety of ongoing projects or assist in the development of entirely new areas of research and policy analysis.

    Property and Environmental Research Center Fellowships

    PERC's fellowships for graduate students and law students offer the ideal opportunity for those who are interested in researching issues related to natural resources and the environment. Graduate fellows spend three months at PERC in Bozeman, Montana, researching and writing a paper under the supervision of a PERC senior fellow. While at PERC, fellows are required to present two workshops to outline, report on, and summarize their research findings. A paper of publishable quality is the expected result.

    Social Security Administration (SSA) Analyzing Relationships between Disability, Rehabilitation and Work (ARDRAW) Small Grant Program

    The Social Security Administration (SSA) is granting graduate students $10,000 stipends to research work, rehabilitation and disability issues through the ARDRAW Small Grant Program.  The objective of the Analyzing Relationships between Disability, Rehabilitation and Work (ARDRAW) Small Grant Program is to foster new analysis of work, rehabilitation, and disability issues, which may develop innovative and fresh perspectives on disability by providing research stipends to a broad spectrum of graduate students. ARDRAW replaces the 5-year grant called the Disability Determination Process Small Grant Program, with a new focus on research relevant to SSA’s work incentives and employment support - specifically rehabilitation, work and the disability program.
