This course will introduce students to the basics of protein purification and characterization as well as the theory behind the methodology carried out in the laboratory portion of the course.
Prerequisite requirement: MCB 5427-001 Introduction to Molecular Biology Techniques (offered in spring 2017). Recommended preparation: a course in biochemistry or structural biology.

Visualization, manipulation and interpretation of macromolecular structures including interdomain interactions, inhibitor design and potential binding sites for cofactors and cognate protein partners.
Recommended preparation: a course in biochemistry or structural biology.
