  • End of semester student outreach

At the end of every fall semester the Honors Program does some outreach to first year students who didn't earn a minimum of a 3.0. This consists of an e-mail assuring students that, as a staff, our doors are open and we invite them to come in and talk with us about their experience. It's also full of information about the resources available to them on campus, including suggestions to utilize their advisors and professors' open office hours. A copy of this e-mail will be sent to the students' advisors and UNIV 1784 instructors as people who have had the best opportunity to get to know these students on an individual basis. This provides advisors and instructors with a head's up that this is a student who might be reaching out to you for help and who could benefit from a little extra attention. Thank you for all you do not just for these students but for all of them!
