    Research Grants - The Leakey Foundation           

                   

                     

    The Leakey Foundation offers up to 27 grants for All But Dissertation

    (ABD) PhD students and postdoctoral scholars to research human origins and evolution. Grants are available for the exploratory phase of a research project. The Foundation expects Fellows to publish and share their data within a reasonable amount of time.

     

    DISCIPLINES

    Life Sciences. Social Sciences. Specifically fields related to human origins and evolution including paleoanthropology, genetics, primate behavior, ecology and morphology, and studies of modern hunter-gatherer groups.

     

    ACADEMIC LEVEL

    Current Graduate Students. Students Working on Doctoral Dissertation.

    Postdoctoral Scholars.

     

    CITIZENSHIP

    No citizenship requirements.

     

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

    Must hold a PhD or equivalent qualification in anthropology or a related discipline. Or, be enrolled in a doctoral program with all degree requirements fulfilled other than the dissertation. Must be affiliated with a school or research institution. Research objectives. Detailed budget. Documentation of permits and visas. CV. Academic advisor reference. Data sharing statement.

     

    STIPEND

    Grants to doctoral students are in the $3,000-$15,000 range and post-doctoral student may be funded up to $25,000.
