Honors students who received midterm warnings were all sent an e-mail from Honors staffers Kaitlin Heenehan and Jessamy Hoffmann, who are available to meet with students as back-up advisors (we make it clear that we don’t replace their primary advisors). The e-mail contained a list of resources of which they may want to take advantage as the stress of the semester builds. It’s copied here as an FYI for any advisor who’s working with a particularly overwhelmed student.
Some resources that may be helpful at this point in the semester (not a comprehensive list):
Office hours with your professors and TAs (they may be aware of tutors or other resources)
Q Center
Writing Center
Academic Achievement Center (including workshops, appointments, and Supplemental Instruction for certain courses)
Engineering Tutoring Center (not just for engineers, tutors available in courses listed on website)
Economics Tutoring Center
Also remember that academics can sometimes fall to the side when other things are happening in your life, so you may also consider the following resources:
Counseling and Mental Health Services
Dean of Students
