Information

  • Spring Registration

Some quick things to keep in mind as you meet with Honors advisees!

    • All Honors students need to earn at least six Honors credits per academic year.

    • Students earning Sophomore Honors need to take at least one Honors core course by the end of their fourth semester. (Spring 2017 core descriptions will soon be available at http://honors.uconn.edu/current-honors-courses/.)

    • Students earning Sophomore Honors who did not bring in credit that fulfills UConn’s first year writing requirement must take ENGL 2011 by the end of their fourth semester. (Spring 2017 ENGL 2011 descriptions will soon be available at http://honors.uconn.edu/current-honors-courses/.)

    • A listing of all Honors courses for a semester can be found by using the Dynamic Class Search in StudentAdmin. Rather than entering a department and course number, click on ‘Honors Classes Only’ and, after a few seconds, a complete listing of all Honors courses offered that semester will pop up.

    • Remind them that it’s OK to ask for help! Particularly new students may be realizing their high school study skills are no longer working for them, but because many of them have never had to ask for help before, they’re not comfortable doing so. As the first round of mid-term warnings come out this Friday, now is a good time to remind them about their academic resources, especially professors’ office hours!
