WGSS Presents
"The Act of Gender in Shakespearean Acting"
If gender itself is a work-in-progress, what is revealed when an actress plays a "man" or "woman" (or both) in Shakespearean drama?
As part of the celebrations surrounding the visit of Shakespeare's First Folio to UConn, students and faculty at Stamford will explore the issue of gender-as-performance in an event organized by Prof. Pamela Brown, with scenes from Macbeth and Twelfth Night directed by Nancy Selleck and starring Bella Ferrante and Linh Tran.
Co-sponsored by WGSS, the Department of English, and the First Folio Committee at Storrs.
