Neag School Reopens Teacher Prep Application

The Neag School of Education welcomes applications to its Integrated Bachelor’s/Master’s (IB/M) Teacher Preparation Program!

While the initial deadline for admission to IB/M has passed, the Neag School has reopened the application for those interested in teacher certification in a Critical Shortage Area. The Connecticut State Department of Education identifies certification shortage areas each year based on the vacancies reported by public school districts. Currently, these subject areas are: secondary English, secondary mathematics, secondary science, secondary social studies, special education, and world languages.

The IB/M Program is a highly competitive five-year comprehensive teacher preparation program that integrates coursework and school-based clinic experiences facilitated by university and K-12 faculty in the preparation of pre-service teachers. The IB/M Program is only offered to undergraduate students at UConn Storrs.

The IB/M shortage area application reopens March 1, 2024, and closes April 1, 2024. Visit https://teachered.education.uconn.edu/ibm-future-students-how-to-apply/ to learn more.
