Do you know talented students who plan to pursue a master’s degree in fall 2025 and who may be interested in a federal law enforcement career in the Foreign Service?

The William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security Fellowship provides academic funding for a two-year master’s degree while preparing fellows to enter the Foreign Service as a Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Special Agent.

The application for the 2025 cohort of the Clarke DS Fellowship is open February 12, 2024, to April 29, 2024 (11:59 pm EDT).

Funded by the U.S. Department of State, the Clarke DS Fellowship provides:

    • Up to $84,000 in academic funding ($42,000 annually for two years).
    • Two summer practicums with stipends with the Diplomatic Security Service (one in Washington, D.C., and one overseas at a U.S. embassy or consulate).
    • Professional development and mentorship.

Upon successful completion of the fellowship program and Foreign Service entry requirements, fellows receive an appointment as a DSS Special Agent, launching an exciting career traveling the world and providing protection to U.S. personnel, facilities and information, while supporting diplomacy.
