Alternative Breaks are immersive service learning opportunities that enable participants to explore social issues pertinent in society in a reflective setting. Through the Alternative Breaks program, students are encouraged to participate in a meaningful service opportunity away from campus, giving them a chance to meet new people, learn important skills, and step away from traditional learning and living.
The Community Sustainability Trip in January 2024 will have a service component and an immersion component where participants will learn more about Puerto Rico's relationship with the mainland US and serve alongside the community on sustainability, food security, and housing security.
