Resources

  • OUR Funding for Honors Thesis Projects

In 2015-16, OUR is offering two funding programs to support seniors during the completion of their Honors theses:

    • OUR Supply Awards, which provide up to $500 for supplies and consumables related to a student’s research or creative project

    • OUR Travel Awards, which provide up to $500 to support travel to conduct off-campus research or travel to present research at a conference

Applications to both of these programs are reviewed on a rolling basis. Awards will be made until available funding is exhausted.

Unfortunately, budgetary constraints have required the cancellation of the Life Sciences Honors Thesis Award program for the current academic year. We encourage students to consider applying for an OUR Supply Award as an alternative.

Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are eligible for the programs above, as well as the following additional funding programs that can help them prepare for or begin work on an Honors thesis:

    • UConn IDEA Grants (12/11/15 application deadline for summer 2016 projects; 3/14/16 deadline for academic year 16-17 projects)

    • SHARE Awards (10/26/15 application deadline for a spring 2016 research apprenticeship in the social sciences, humanities, or arts)

    • SURF Awards (2/1/16 deadline for summer 2016 funding)
