IRIS (Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services), is a non-profit organization based in New Haven that helps refugees in the process of resettlement by providing them with legal, healthcare, housing, and education services. IRIS hosts an annual Run for Refugees every February to raise money for their important cause, and Huskies for Refugees and the UConn Human Rights Symposium is bringing the event to UConn on April 9, 2022. The event will consist of a 5k walk or run, and the registration fee is $25, but proceeds will go to IRIS. There will also be speakers, including UConn students who are refugees, and representatives from IRIS.
