Honors Orientation Graduate Advisor
May 9, 2022 – July 21, 2022
Average 20 hours per week for duration of appointment
The Honors Program is looking for a graduate student to serve as Orientation advisor to work with incoming first-year Honors undergraduate students and guide them through the course registration process during virtual one-on-one meetings using the Webex platform.
The successful candidate will receive training for Honors requirements, PeopleSoft Student Admin registration procedures, advising expectations, and UConn general education requirements.
Must be available for training on the following dates:
- May 9 9 am – 4pm
- May 11 2 – 3:30 pm
- May 12 9 am – 4pm
- May 17 2 – 3:30 pm
Summer Orientation working hours:
May 20 – July 21
Monday - Friday: up to 5 hours between 9 am to 4 pm, up to 4 days per week, some weeks may vary
(No registration sessions on 5/30, 6/13, 7/4)
Minimum qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Must be enrolled in a UConn graduate program
- Must be eligible and available to work during the full May 9 - July 21 period
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with high-achieving students
- Experience with academic advising/coaching
Appointment period:
May 9 – July 21
Average 20 hours per week for duration of appointment

Compensation:
$17/hr
