Involvement Opportunities

  • Leadership Opportunity in Global Health

Interested in a leadership position in Global Health? Looking for a way to engage with the Global Health community at UConn and abroad? Join GloHSOC -- The Global Health Spaces on Campus!

Global Health Spaces On Campus was established in 2018 by a group of passionate undergraduates from many departments and schools at UConn, all united by a common goal to establish UConn as a global health center across the country. Since then, we have organized four annual global health conferences (Think Global Act Local, 2018; Winning the Birth Lottery, 2019; and VIP Access: Gatekeeping in Global Health 2020; Decolonizing Global Health, 2021), engaged hundreds of students and faculty in the global health conversation, networked with changemakers across the globe, and gained national and international recognition for our organization and symposium. In our efforts to engage students and professionals from all disciplines in global health changemaking, we established an annual Global Health Hackathon, where for three years in a row students from all academic and pre professional interests have come together to develop solutions to the world’s most pressing global health issues.

We are currently planning our fifth annual symposium and we're looking for new members to join and take on leadership positions. Feel free to reach out with questions. Our meetings this semester are Thursday evenings at 6! Check us out at our website at glohsoc.uconn.edu.
